About Medical Report Redaction
Redact personally identifiable information (PII) from medical reports, lab results, prescriptions, and discharge summaries — entirely in your browser. Medical documents contain highly sensitive data including patient names, dates of birth, hospital registration numbers, and phone numbers. This tool uses OCR to detect and black-out personal identifiers while preserving clinical data. No medical documents are ever uploaded to any server. Useful for research purposes, second opinions, insurance claims, and sharing medical data with providers while protecting patient privacy.
Frequently Asked Questions
What PII is redacted from medical reports?
Patient name, date of birth, age, hospital ID, phone number, and address fields are detected and redacted. Lab values and clinical findings are preserved.
Is this HIPAA-compliant?
The tool removes the 18 HIPAA identifiers (Safe Harbour method) from documents. However, consult your compliance officer for formal HIPAA de-identification requirements.
Are my medical documents uploaded?
Never. All processing runs in your browser using WebAssembly OCR.
