About PAN Card Masking
Detect and mask PAN (Permanent Account Number) card numbers in PDF and image documents directly in your browser. PAN numbers (10-character alphanumeric: AAAAA0000A) are sensitive tax identifiers issued by the Income Tax Department of India. Sharing unmasked PAN in documents can expose individuals to financial fraud. This tool uses OCR (Tesseract WASM) to scan your document for PAN patterns, then replaces them with XXXXX0000X. All processing is done locally — no data is sent to any server.

What format does the masked PAN use?
The first 5 characters and last character are replaced with X, keeping only the 5th to 9th characters (numeric portion) visible: XXXXX0000X.
Does it work on ITR and financial documents?
Yes. PAN numbers appear in ITR filings, bank forms, and investment documents. The tool detects and masks them wherever they appear.
Are my documents uploaded?
